Pretty much the best Japanese food in MI! Always amazing! But be prepared for a line and wait. This place needs to expand!
Easily the most authentic Asian restaurant around metro Detroit. It's small and gets crowded quickly, but the wait is worth it. I personally love getting meiko noodles. (I probably spelt that wrong) along with the Cali roll. Simple I know, but soooo good.
Had extremely high hopes based on the rave, rave reviews on Yelp.
Service is definitely substandard. No dedicated host, just a self-check-in list. About an hour wait on a Friday night because the restaurant is very small. Limited interaction with the server, no menu explanation or assistance whatsoever, took forever to place the order. The menu is not clear, and it seemed there were items available that were not on the menu, like onigiri, which we saw delivered to other tables.
The hot tea was delivered in plastic cups, which was an unappealing presentation. The sushi was good but nothing special, and the rolls were small (albeit a good price for the portions).
I'll be the first to admit; this was my first time trying udon. I found it to be so bland, and I'm trying to understand how it could have missed the mark for me so completely, but is so clearly delicious to so many other people. It seriously tasted like slightly salty water to me. Is this just how udon tastes?
I desperately wanted this place to blow my mind, but I didn't get the hype, at all.
