one of the freshest around. You won't be disappointed.
It does not get better than this place if you want authentic food. The prices are unbeatable. Absolutely try the curry! The sushi is fresh and simple, none of the annoying fried everything. To die for! I crave it all of the time and we drive 40mins to get to this place! The wait is typically 30mins or longer if you go during peak lunch hours but if you come early or late it's not bad. It's a small tiny stop with no frills so if you are looking for linens and wait staff that beckons to your every need, this is not the place. They make fantastic food and do it at an incredible price. I hope this place never changes and the grumps who complain about the wait, don't go! The food speaks for itself!
Love this restaurant. Best udon you can get anywhere. The price is also very affordable. Be prepared to wait, especially on the weekends. There is usually a line already at the door before it even opens!
Had extremely high hopes based on the rave, rave reviews on Yelp.
Service is definitely substandard. No dedicated host, just a self-check-in list. About an hour wait on a Friday night because the restaurant is very small. Limited interaction with the server, no menu explanation or assistance whatsoever, took forever to place the order. The menu is not clear, and it seemed there were items available that were not on the menu, like onigiri, which we saw delivered to other tables.
The hot tea was delivered in plastic cups, which was an unappealing presentation. The sushi was good but nothing special, and the rolls were small (albeit a good price for the portions).
I'll be the first to admit; this was my first time trying udon. I found it to be so bland, and I'm trying to understand how it could have missed the mark for me so completely, but is so clearly delicious to so many other people. It seriously tasted like slightly salty water to me. Is this just how udon tastes?
I desperately wanted this place to blow my mind, but I didn't get the hype, at all.
